JCT Met Office Weather Reports

JCT has teamed up with the Met Office to offer two location-based weather services: Weather Planning Reports and Downtime Reports.
The reports are designed specifically for project planning and management, helping you to minimise the impact of weather on your construction project and complement the weather clauses found in JCT contracts.
The Reports
Weather Planning Report
Designed specifically for the product planning phase and offers Long Term Averages and 1-in-10 year values for 11 weather elements for each month of the year.

Downtime Report
Designed specifically for post-project management, helping you to minimise the impact of weather on your project and complement the weather clauses found in JCT contracts.

Location specific
Both reports provide weather information that accurately reflects onsite conditions for over 3,500 UK locations. The reports also include up to 16 weather parameters with wind as standard, so they can be used with the full range of JCT contracts. Click on the map below to see available locations:

How the service works
The Met Office has combined the historic gridded database of Long Term Average values with a database of present observations used to drive the supercomputer forecasting models in order to identify severe weather and a suitable claim for downtime.
